WHO WE ARE

The Sausalito Working Waterfront Coalition (SWWC) represents, and advocates for, the interests of those whose livelihoods are linked to the Marinship and its multifaceted evolution.  Our constituency includes an interdependent network of maritime workers, business owners, property owners, employees, artists, craftspeople, inventors, artisans, educators, and many Sausalito residents who are concerned for the future of this unique community and its historic legacy.

Too long have the voices of our Marinship dreamers, makers, and doers been ignored.  Our maritime, light-industrial and artist enterprise thrive despite continued lax zoning enforcement, office conversions and threat of development.  We are now determined to remedy that situation - before it is too late.  Our booklet IT HAPPENS IN THE MARINSHIP, tells the untold story of the people that make the Marinship a unique part of Sausalito's cultural heritage .  The photo above is of  'Matthew Turner' on a beautiful spring day docked at the U.S. Army Corps Pier, her home pier.  'Matthew Turner' is an example of Sausalito's maritime heritage come to life through the support of our community.

Help us to spread the word to protect Sausalito's Maritime, Industrial and Artistic heritage.

See the link above to Our Booklet for the forgotten story of what is happening in the Marinship
